  21. I am replying to your question about purchasing an Indy to use Lightwave.

  23. In early spring we will be coming out with an upgrade of Lightwave3D using
  24. open GL. In Modeler you will be able to move your (shaded) models in real
  25. time, work directly with (shaded) textured models in layout, with
  26. instantaneous updates to lighting changes.  We are working on plug ins such
  27. as motion capture and particles.

  29. The Silicon Graphics Indy has tremendous system throughput!!  The Indy has
  30. a 267MB per second system bus & a 400MB per second memory bus making it one
  31. of the fastest systems on the market.  The Indy is designed for digital
  32. media, as well as multitasking, which allows you to run several
  33. applications at once, as well as being able to program (scripting) with out
  34. losing your work. The new R5000 processor is roughly 80% faster than the
  35. R4400SC.  This translates into pure processing power for your lightwave
  36. application.  The Indy also comes bundled with digital media tools and
  37. software which will enable you take you designs to the next level.  With
  38. the new graphics capabilities of the Silicon Graphics Indy, you can do
  39. complex matting & high end composting not available on a PC platform.

  42. 13,500 for 64MB RAM, 1GB hard disk. The Indy is bundled with Adobe
  43. Photoshop 3.0, Adobe Illustrator 5.5, Metatools KPT 2.0.1, Alias Composer
  44. LT, Insignia Solutions Soft Windows 2.0, SGI NGS, and IRIS Impressario.
